Prayers for Liliana Catalina Hinojosa

My name is Catina DeLeon and I'm starting this Go Fund me for my niece and nephew and their baby Liliana- 5 months old.

Liliana's Mommy and Daddy started noticing her head was growing and getting bigger and bigger. They couldn't bare the thought that something could be wrong with their precious baby girl. Over the past month her head had gotten so big that they could no longer think to themselves that it was normal growth or dismiss that something could be wrong. They took her in to see her doctor and immediately the doctor ordered emergency ultrasounds. within two hours a neurologist called and said she head to be admitted immediately for emergency surgery. She was transported to UC Davis on Tuesday November 9,2021. She went into an emergency surgery where they inserted a stent to remove the fluid to other parts of the body to absorb. Her surgery was successful and she has been making progress.

She will be in the NICU and hospital for a couple weeks pending she continues to progress in her recovery. Her mom and dad will be out of work to care for her and are about to start a journey of the "unknown" caring for their baby.

These funds will go to help them while they are at the hospital with her as well as when they return home until her daddy is able to return to work to provide for their family. They have 3 more children at home waiting for their sister to come home.

Anything at all will help and would be a true blessing. We know God will provide- He always does!

What is hydrocephalus?

Hydrocephalus is a condition in which there is excessive fluid in and around the brain. It occurs from a lack of absorption, blockage of flow, or overproduction of the cerebral spinal fluid (CSF) that's made inside the ventricles. The ventricles are fluid-filled areas of the brain. The CSF disperses from the ventricles around the brain and spinal cord. Too much CSF may result in a buildup of fluid that can cause the pressure inside of the head to increase. In a child, this causes the bones of the skull to expand and separate to a larger-than-normal appearance.
