Prayers for Matt Conrad

Donation protected

On January 10th, 2019 Matt left work not feeling quite right.  Later that night while eating dinner with his girlfriend, Sarah, he started to slur his speech.  Arriving at the hospital he was sent for an CT scan, which resulted in being diagnosed with melanoma.  Numerous tumors were found on the brain and a small spot on Matt’s lung.  On January 19th Matt received brain surgery to remove a large tumor on his left side of the brain, as the tumor was restricting Matt’s speech and mobility.

Matt will require 3-4 weeks of recovery in the hospital with aggressive rehabilitation to gain mobility and speech.  Furthermore, he will be starting radiation to target other tumors.

So, to all that have crossed paths with Matt,  his family would sincerely ask you to please keep Matt in your thoughts and prayers.  If you would like to donate, please do so as they will need financial support for the long road ahead.

***The family does ask at this time to respect their privacy during this critical rehabilitation period and to continue prayers for him and the family as he embarks on this long journey.

I’ve known Matt for more than 23 years now, in which 16 of those years we’ve worked together.  Over that time, we’ve developed a deep bond.  He is considered my father, brother, fishing & hunting partner and more importantly, my best friend.  Matt is a “tough love” guy but has one of the biggest hearts of anyone I know.  He has guided and advised me from adolescence through adulthood, so like others when I learned of this news it left a lump in my throat and a heavy heart.  I’m sure most of you know, but Matt truly is one of the hardest workers I’ve met and will do anything to support and defend his family.  That “tough love” mentality has a lot to be said and has taught me about work ethic and the importance of family no matter what happens in your life.  I mention this only because he is fighting as we speak to regain what he’s lost and as I sit back and watch him put everything he has taught me into action, I can only sit in amazement, if there is a will he will find a way.  I can only hope one day, faced with similar circumstances, I will be able to have the willpower, drive and love that I am witnessing him perform.

With Love,
Brad Wall & Family
