Prayers & help for James McKee

Donation protected
To all our friends, family and customers,

Today the Sarah’s Pizza Family is reaching out and asking for prayers, prayers and more prayers for our founder, Jim McKee, who has been diagnosed with Covid-19 and is currently at Grandview Hospital on a ventilator. As many of you know, Jim started the Lewisburg Sarah’s over 30 years ago and the restaurant has become a staple not just in the community of Lewisburg, but also in the communities of West Alexandria, Eaton and Brookville.

Jim, who is also a survivor of lymphatic melanoma after being diagnosed in 2017, needs our help as the financial cost of fighting the Coronavirus unfortunately continues to increase for Jim and his family. We are reaching out to all communities in Preble County to ask for your help and make a donation to Jim and his family to help with the cost of his medical bills. Times are so tough for everybody right now. We know all too well how rough it is. Even if you can donate $1, $5 or just anything it would greatly be appreciated.

Many of you are familiar with the impact Jim and Sarah’s Pizza has had on the community of Lewisburg, West Alexandria, Eaton and Brookville. For 30 years the restaurant has provided numerous jobs for our residents, especially for students looking for a chance to join the workforce and work their way through school. The Sarah’s Pizza, Submarine Fundraiser also became a staple of the community and has provided students and local organizations a chance to raise money to support a wide range of opportunities they may otherwise not of had a chance to pursue.

In 1989, Jim started Sarah’s Pizza with the goal of providing the community a place to enjoy high quality pizza with affordable prices, fresh ingredients and top customer service. The restaurant continues to operate with the same values today.

Recently, Jim decided to retire and sold the restaurant to long-time employees to pursue a new challenge. Believe it or not…another restaurant! The Ribbons cutting ceremony was November 10th. Later that night he wasn’t feeling well. The next 8-9 days he was in and out of the hospital and on November 20th he was placed on a ventilator. That’s almost 2 weeks ago. The current pandemic has made it difficult for the food service industry as a whole, but has made it extremely difficult for the new restaurant to continue operating and has been temporarily shut down until Jim is back on his feet.

Jim Loves Lewisburg! Always has. If you know Jim personally, you know how much he loves the people of Lewisburg. From the gals at the bank that he went to daily to the farmers he liked to argue with everyday at lunch time and to the crew and customers that he loved to playfully aggravate!

We need your help for Jim and his family and we’re hoping the community can come together to help support one of their own. Thank you for your consideration and we hope that you can join us in thanking Jim for the many years of service.

To Jim,

We are praying and thinking about you and cannot wait to see you back at the restaurant. Over the years you have given all of us a wonderful place to work. We are so grateful for what you have done for us! Get well soon and we will have hot pizza ready for you as soon as you get home!
