Prayers, Love and Support for the Lytle Family

“And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son.” John 14:13

Hello, we, Nelson and Sylvia Schmidt, are writing on behalf of the Lytle Family. They were spending Thanksgiving week with Pastor Aaron’s parents in Hastings, NE when their youngest daughter, Amariah (11), became ill. After the 2nd visit to the ER, it was determined she had a frontal lobe abscess and needed to be transported to Children’s Hospital in Omaha. The brain abscess is a rare and serious disease. This took place on Sat, Nov. 25. After 3 surgeries to remove the abscess from her brain and infection in her sinus area, she is doing incredibly well, Thanks Be To God!

The Lytle’s are a family that enjoys being together. They do dinner together most evenings with devotions and their home is open to anyone who would like to join them. This fall season has brought several challenges with their eldest going to college at Seward, Nebraska and then their son, Zachariah, becoming injured playing high school football with a fractured ankle and surgery to this life-threatening brain injury to Amariah. As of today, Dec. 07, Amariah is healing in ways that her medical team can’t believe – she is eating, talking and walking. She is asking for hot chocolate and her iphone! She will need both short- and long-term rehab also. Most likely Amariah will be moved to a Rehab Center in Omaha this week. Pending her recovery and insurance, she could be permitted to fly back home to Houston before Christmas. Aaron and Sara have been by her side the entire time and will continue until Amariah is released. Abrianna is at college in Seward, Nebraska while Zachariah and Aaliyah are back at home in Houston going to school daily.

At this time, we thank you for your prayers and ask for continued prayers for healing, the medical team, the insurance company, for Aaron and Sara and for the other 3 children until they are reunited…hopefully before Christmas.

Many have been asking, “how can I help?” At this time, we are also asking if you can prayerfully discern and help during this season with any monetary funds to help offset the additional costs for the Lytle’s (deductibles, lodging during her rehab, out of pocket expenses, meals and getting back to Houston). A list will be made and kept of all expenses and any funds left over will be donated to the Carolyn Scott Rainbow House (Omaha, NE) where Aaron and Sara have stayed free while at the hospital. The Lytle’s are grateful to this home that provided not only emergency temporary lodging, but laundry, food, and much comfort.

Thank you for your prayers, support and heart to this family during this season of Advent! Blessings.
