Prayers needed for Brandon Kornegay and family

Hey, my name is Kellie Hatley Long. I have known Ashley Russell Kornegay since we were about 5 years old. Very blessed to say I have a lifetime friend. With a heavy heart I hate to share such tragic news but Ashley and her family are in much need! Saturday April 3rd their life has flipped upside down.  Her husband Brandon, 38 yrs old, unexpectedly and suddenly lost consciousness. Thankfully his 2 sons Brock(14) and Bryce(7) were at home with him. Brock called his mom who was able to be there in less than a minute and he also called 911. Ashley gave him CPR until the paramedics arrived. They lost his pulse and administered CPR for a estimated 45 minutes. His body has suffered greatly while paramedics revived him. Brandon is currently at Duke in the ICU fighting for his life. There is so much that is unknown. What caused this? As of now, they don't know. Due to the trauma his body has gone through and lack of oxygen unfortunately the MRI has shown some brain damage. But we still have hope because we serve a loving, powerful, healing God. 

Due to Covid restrictions, Ashley is the only one who can be with him. Every day she has been by his side, talking with the doctors, and being the messenger to others on updates. I know this also must be extremely hard for his mom Kathy and sister Lisa who are not allowed to be by his side. So, I ask that you please lift them up also in your prayers. Please pray for their 2 sons. The unknown can be scary, especially for a child.

Their journey is unknown for the next days, weeks, and months to come. As a friend, I can't take the pain away, I can't even sit by her side or even wait in the waiting room because of Covid restrictions. So most importantly please pray for this entire family. God hears us!

Financially, they will be in desperate need as no income for either will be coming in. Any help will be much appreciated. Ashley already has her hands full with being the only one there so I will try to keep everyone updated once I know more. Thank you all!
