Help and Prayers for Coco
Donation protected
This fund is to help support everyone's mama Coco in paying for her medical bills from recieving chemotherapy, surgery, and radiation treatment for her newly diagnosed cancer.
At the end of March this year, we found out that my mom Coco has a rare and uncommon cancer; nueroendocrine carcinoma usually occurs in the lungs, but for her, they found this cancer tumor in her breast. We've been told that this is a cancer that is not well understood, but what doctors do know is that the cancer is aggressive and spreads quickly. While Coco would prefer more natural methods of treatment, the urgency the doctors portrayed had her in a chemotherapy treatment less than a week after learning she even had cancer.
Coco has insurance from the state, and they will not be covering the treatment in full. The other day, we learned that just 1 shot – given to boost my mom's white blood cell count which was too low for chemo – cost $6,000! This isn't even core to the treatment, but is necessary for her. A few bills have already started rolling in. Donations here will help tremendously, financially and in helping to relieve some stress!
Some people continue to work throughout chemo; the nature of Coco's work before being diagnosed was physically exhausting and exposed her to strong chemicals, so she is unable to work for the time being.
Coco's chemo treatments will last until summer, then she will discuss with doctors the possibility of a lumpectomy or mastectomy surgery, and will start radiation therapy after that. While this has been hard news to wrap our heads around, things have started to settle and - not suprisingly - Coco has been so positive so far.
Being diagnosed with cancer is never expected and never a pleasant thing. But we are lucky that my mom is loved by so many people, and we have been blown away by the support and love she's been shown already.
Please pray for my mom to be strong, healthy, and happy! Thank you, thank you for helping support her battle against cancer!
