Praying for a Miracle for Magda

Magda and Rubens are our neighbors. Magda is from Poland, and Rubens is from Brazil. They met online over 12 years ago, and the story goes... Rubens' sons gave him permission to remarry "as long as she will play board games with us!" Magda was living in London at the time and after just 7 days of talking, they knew they wanted to marry each other. Rubens flew to London, they became engaged, and Magda relocated to Brazil. They later moved to California for a while and then desired a slower pace of life, landing in southeast Georgia.

Rubens is a pastor, and has worked many jobs in the States. Magda is a trained classical pianist and piano instructor and has been working tirelessly to create an innovative educational program for children from ages 0 to 6 years.

Magda was helping us over the weekend to care for our two cats and two dogs, and the very next day Scott got a call from Rubens that Magda was having what appeared to be a seizure. Scott ran to their home and helped the paramedics team get her onto a stretcher. Next thing Rubens knew... he was receiving a call that Magda was being flown by helicopter from Hinesville to Memorial University Medical Center in Savannah, GA.

After spending 2 days in the hallway of the emergency department of Memorial, and after many neuro assessments, CT scan, and MRI, a large tumor was found in the left hemisphere of Magda's brain. Even in the midst of this crisis, she remains her glowing, kind, positive self and has been praying for other patients on her floor, and for her nurses and doctors.

Magda requires life-saving surgery to remove this tumor. We are praying faithfully that the tumor will be completely removed, and Magda will have a full recovery. We know Magda's work on earth is not yet done.

Just two weeks before this medical emergency, Rubens had lost his job. Without insurance and steady income at this time, paying bills has become nearly impossible.
