Update on the Mobility Scooter
Donation protected
God’s people went above and beyond the $2,000 mark for John’s mobility scooter! Thank you so much!! We are raising the number to $3,000 to make sure to cover all of the costs and tax.
God is so faithful! Thank you again. ❤️
This couple is dear to my heart. They are faithful members of Highland Baptist Church. John helped me with Highland’s Children’s Choir by making digital graphics for me. His sweet wife, Jane, has supported me through very difficult parenting times.
When John wrote this yesterday on facebook, the Lord spoke to my heart. No one should have their mobility compromised because of money.
Please read John’s words and consider giving towards the needed repairs.
And the picture is of Jane, John and their most precious granddaughter.
From John - I normally don’t like sharing my problems with people (other than when I was having problems finding a caregiver – which, thank God, I can say I have a great one right now) but I thought I would make an exception because of my scooter breaking down.
As most of you know, I have no problem walking but, because I am attached to several pieces of medical equipment, when I am out of the house I use a mobility scooter.
I have had one for 11 years, but now the drivetrain is broken. The cost to fix it would be about as much as a new scooter; they recommended that I replace it with a new one.
However, my scooter has to be modified and there is no place in Waco which will transfer the modified parts over from my dead scooter and onto a new scooter.
I have found a place in Temple that has agreed to transfer the things over, but between the cost of the new scooter and adapting over the modifications, it will not be cheap.
Also, we think that my health insurance can cover the cost if we are able to navigate through all the hoops, but because the scooter companies don’t work with the insurance companies, we would still have pay for the scooter/labor upfront and then work to get it reimbursed.
So, all that to ask you for prayers on to how I can get it all done without it taking months of me going without a scooter.
Thanks everyone for your prayers and donations. We serve a Mighty God.
