Praying for Misty's Miracle
Donation protected
Hi everyone, my name is Cheri and I am organizing this fundraiser at the request of Cynthia Gregorich (Misty's mom). Misty Rhodes is in complete organ failure and has bleeding on the brain. Despite the hospital saying there is no hope the family is trusting God for a miracle. Misty is a loving, fierce, fighting mama to 11-year-old twins Gideon and Scarlett and amazing wife to Steven. She is a stay-at-home caregiver to Gideon and has been his fiercest fighter since he was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer (lymphoma and leukemia). Little Gideon has been on life support 17 times and his longest hospital stay was 1 year and 3 months. As a result of his cancer, Gideon is a paraplegic. Misty is a non-stop warrior whose dream was to see Gideon get out of that wheelchair and run with his twin sister again. In October 2021, the entire family contracted Covid. Gideon was hospitalized for 10 weeks, Scarlett had minimal symptoms and Steven and Misty had severe complications with their organs. Steven was mostly recovered after 6 weeks. Misty was having issues with her liver and kidneys. She would seem to get better - then worse - then better. Little Scarlett had a dance recital on June 9 and Misty refused to miss it ~ she said if she didn't feel better she would go to the hospital after the recital. The mother that Misty is, she refused to miss that recital...especially since so much of her time must be dedicated to Gideon...pushing through each day - she simply didn't realize just how sick she was. After the recital on June 9 Misty went to the hospital where she was told she was in multiple organ failure. Within days Misty was experiencing seizures and it was revealed that she has a large brain mass. She went unconscious and has yet to regain consciousness. Steven tried to explain to the kids that mama was asleep and that she would wake up - it just may be in Heaven. Little Gideon's reply as he placed his hand on his father's hand... "mom is a hero and she sacrificed herself for us." Steven has been unable to work for over a month and clearly it will be a very long time before he can go back to work. Steven has a Master's degree in theology and his career has been as a pastor and in family ministry and counseling. He has spent his entire life serving, loving the Lord and loving all people - even the unlovable. Please join with me in prayer asking the Lord for a miracle - we serve a God of miracles and if you feel led, please walk with us and offer financial support.
