Team Amy

Hey friends! I am Maria Ruggeri Fleming and I am starting this gofundme project . We have a tough time being had by our friend, Amy Carey. She has been diagnosed with Squamous cell carcinoma in her jaw and the soft tissue of her lower mandible. Amy has handled this diagnosis with her typical grace and courage. Amy lost her partner of over 20 yrs about 4 yrs ago. She has faced other difficult challenges. Recently her electrical box caught fire due to electrical wiring problems, which has been temporarily fixed but the house will have to be re-wired completely. She has also had a mini stroke and the ambulance wasn’t covered by insurance so all this had to come out of her savings. She will be going to Houston (about 3 hrs from her home) for treatment of the cancer and, while she does have insurance, the impending bills are bound to be overwhelming. We will be starting a gofundme for her and I will be posting it on our pages as well as on the Chenango Valley pages.
