Precious "Pooka" Rucker

On Thursday September 7, 2023 a tragedy occurred in Austin,Tx leaving 3 brothers and loved ones without their sister and friend. Precious Angel Rucker was found brutely murdered inside her home by their youngest brother Wanya Smith. She was found on her bedroom floor after her 2nd brother Roderick responded to a text from the eldest Runel to check on her since her job had not heard from her since Wednesday morning. Known as Pooka to the family, she was truly an idol and role model to anyone whom was blessed enough to have her in their life. Her impact to this world started in her young adult years. She was a Virginia State University alumni graduating with 2 masters, but most on the campus would know her as the voice on the campus jazz radio station. But enough was never enough for Pooka, so she then expanded her studies abroad clocking her first trip to Ghana, making it one of many.

There were many places around the world that had the chance to experience the essence of Pooka. The listed includes but is not limited to New Amsterdam, London, Pairs, New York, and a total of 3 times to Ghana. She was not the one to slow down or let grass grow under her feet. Even though she was accomplishing so many great things in life, she was always there to support her brothers and loved ones, no matter if they were miles away.

The funds raised in this campaign will directly go towards the surviving family member to ease the financial burden that this devasting tragedy has brought on. The donations made will help cover bringing Pooka back home to Virginia and other funeral expenses, but also with food, travel, and any other expenses for the family to be together in this tough time of mourning.
