Preemie Baby Connor Davis
Donation protected
I battled preterm labor from 28 weeks pregnant, 2 hospital stays, & a bunch of anti contraction medication & shots to try to slow down my labor long enough for Connor to grow as much as possible,
Our beautiful redhead baby boy Connor was born at 35 weeks premature on 8-20-18 at 5lbs 13oz. From birth, he has been having medical complications like low blood sugar, trouble regulating his temperature, dehydration, having issues gaining weight, & high bilirubin & liver enzyme levels. He is now (8-30-18) only 5lbs 3oz & his jaundice levels are getting higher instead of lower & he keeps testing high on 1 of his liver enzymes.

It has been a roller coaster ride of ups & downs. Tons of blood work, in & out of Isolette (bilirubin & temperature control box), nursing him & supplementing him with more breastmilk via fingerfeeding, being able to hold him one day & having to keep him in the box the next, weight gains ine day & weight loss the next & we are running on prayers & very little sleep & every day seems to present a new complication or hurdle. We are doing our best to not give up hope.

Today, he is 10 days old (8-30-18) & his doctor is now concerned he may have liver disease. He had a bunch of labwork this morning & we wont know the results for a couple days. He is also back under the lights unless he is eating to help him gain weight & keep him warm. We are hopeful for the best. If Connor doesnt improve, we will be transferred to a more specialized hospital & he will also have to start a feeding tube.
We are a family of 4. My husband is a full time student at UC davis & a hardworking dad of 2 jobs. He has been trying to earn every extra penny he can for us to cover medical expenses as our insurance will not cover everything, travel costs to & from hospital, babysitting costs for our almost 2 year old girl Audrey, car repair costs as his car decided to blow up yesterday on top of all of this, we never got the chance to have a baby shower as we didnt know when Connor was coming so we still need some baby items which is an added expense & so much more.
We are very independent driven people who work hard for our family & who never ask for help but given the situation, we feel it is necessary for our family to reach out & be open about our struggles in hopes of helping others going thru similar experiences and/or finding solace in those who have been here before. Having a preemature baby is such a roller coaster.
We understand that not everyone can donate so we ask that you please share our story on social media & continue to pray.
Any donation, prayer, or share is greatly appreciated.
Thank you for reading & stay tuned for updates.
