Help Preemie Twins With NICU Care Needs
Donation protected
My name is Pam Boehme Simon and my twin grand babies were born this past Sunday, December 3, at only 30 weeks. Abigail and Alexander are the children of my son Daniel and his husband, Josh. The twins are currently in a NICU facility where their expected stay is ten weeks. They were not due to be born until January 21, 2024.
After planning and saving for over 8 years, Daniel and Josh were able to begin the process of the surrogacy program that would bring their dream of a family to life. Plans were going along smoothly. Josh, a nurse, and Daniel, a licensed professional counselor, had worked hard and were ecstatically awaiting the birth of their children.
However, with no warning, the surrogate's water broke on December 2. The next day, Abigail and Alexander were delivered via emergency C-section. Josh's insurance was all set to cover the infants birth and care on January 1, 2024, in plenty of time for the expected delivery date.
Now, the babies are in NICU where the cost of their care is square on the shoulders of Daniel and Josh. At $8000 every three days per baby, this cost is quickly escalating. Close family members have come to their aid, but this dire situation is beyond our immediate capabilities. So the circle of our call for help must widen.
We are appealing to extended family, friends, acquaintances, strangers with a soft spot for the dilemma Daniel and Josh are facing... anyone who feels compelled to help, please give, if you can. No donation is too small and each will be graciously and gratefully accepted with our heartfelt appreciation. All contributions received will strictly be used to fund the babies NICU care.
Thank you for your attention to their story. Please share it any where you feel may help.
