Gifts for the NICU
Donation protected
The purpose of this GoFundMe is to raise money to purchase specially designed Lulla Dolls for infants in the NICU.
Having a baby in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) is undeniably a roller coaster for parents. It is very emotional and these dolls can help calm babies in the NICU and transitioning home.
My name is Julie, I have had 2 children in the NICU oldest (Tanner) was born at 26 weeks gestation weighing 2lbs 4oz in the NICU for 77 days.
Youngest (Nolan) was born at 26 weeks and 2 days gestation weighing 1lb 13 oz in the NICU for 131 days.
In 2017 my boys and I wanted to do something for our local NICU that was meaningful to us. We researched and found the Lulla Doll by Roro. This was specifically designed for premature babies. This is doll has the sounds of real-life breathing and heartbeat that will play for 12 hours. I contacted the company and they were so happy to work with us. I received a doll to bring to the NICU where a physical therapist kept to make sure this would be a good fit for their NICU. At last she got back to me, she thought they would be a great fit for babies outside of an isollette and transitioning home. So my kids and I decided to do a birthday fundraiser to purchase dolls for the NICU. We ended up donating twice.

Well that was 2 years ago and we would love to do this again. I thought a GoFundMe would be easier for us as the Holidays are coming up, Nolan’s birthday is November 30th (he will be 7) and he is having surgery December 16th.
The NICU Nolan was in averages 700 babies a year!! The dolls retail for $59 and we would be so great full if this year we go above and beyond and raise enough money for both NICU’s in Sioux Falls South Dakota to receive at least 100 dolls each. That would cost $11,800 plus shipping. So maybe we should be a bit more realistic and do 50 dolls each?!
Kindly SHARE this with everyone you know we would be very blessed.
Thank you
Nolan and Julie
