Pre-orders for my bilingual children's book!
Donation protected
Throughout this semester I have been studying abroad in Bolivia. I’ve had the amazing opportunity to travel to many different cities, attend Carnaval, and live with a host family.
During the last month of my study abroad program, I will be participating in an independent research project about climate change. I also plan to volunteer at a bee farm that produces organic products and emphasizes the idea of sustainable living versus exploiting natural resources. I hope to understand how climate change and human action are changing the relationship of bees in nature.
Afterwards, I will be turning my research into a children’s book working closely with Kids' Books Bolivia where I will be writing in both English and Spanish as well as drawing the illustrations myself.
I'm asking for pre-orders of $10 for each book. Each purchase will be used towards publishing 1,000 copies of the book to be distributed to children in Bolivia and the United States. Each pre-order through this website will not be delivered until a few months after the book has gone through the publishing process.
“The Kids' Books Bolivia project contributes to the production of affordable books celebrating Bolivian reality and serves to raise international awareness about Bolivia’s rich cultures and pressing social issues.
All proceeds subsidize book donations and low-cost books for children and educational programs in Bolivia. All of the books in this series are bilingual (Spanish and English) and some are trilingual in one of Bolivia’s 36 indigenous languages.” - https://www.kidsbooksbolivia.org.
I am so excited to participate with this organization, and I truly believe this is a great form of reciprocity to have accomplished during my study abroad experience after returning to the states. To know more about Kids' Books Bolivia, the above link has more information about what they do and what they have done as an organization!
