Oscar's New CD/Cicily's Cancer Fund

Thank you all for taking the time to check out this project. The purpose for this pre-sale campaign is two-fold:

Part 1:

My latest CD, “Prepare a Place for Me” will be released on October 13th on Myna Records. This is my third recording project as a leader and it needs a final push! This is your chance to order the CD through a pre-sale. 

This new quartet features an exceptional lineup of jazz musicians on the New York scene: Bruce Williams on saxophones, Thomson Kneeland on bass, and Alvester Garnett on drums. 


BUT MORE IMPORTANT THAN A NEW CD IS:

Cancer is a disease that affects every person in the world. If you think about it, we all know someone who has been affected by cancer, whether directly, family or a friend. My family is no stranger to its long lasting effects. 

The plan was to donate a portion of each pledge towards cancer research, but a few weeks ago we received news that changed things. A good friend of ours, Cicily Janus, who is a published author, dedicated music promoter and mother of three young girls has been diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia (AML). A portion of each pledge will be going towards her medical treatment and help in taking care of her children. This is an opportunity to help someone directly.

It will be an amazing feeling to turn around and write a check that will help out a great person in a tough spot.

Your direct pledge will help the following:

1) Funding the artwork, graphic design and replication of the CD.

2) Funding a publicist to run a press and radio campaign. Ann Braithwaite of Braithwaite & Katz Communications has agreed to help us out with this huge undertaking. 

3) Contributing towards Cicily's Cancer Fund.
