I am writing to you on behalf of the Women's Museum of Australia (WMoA) and the Old Gaol in Alice Springs. As the President of The Women's Museum and Old Gaol, I am reaching out to request your support in the form of donations to help sustain our organisation during these challenging times.

The WMoA was founded in Alice Springs in 1993 and has been operating from the Old Gaol in the Heritage Precinct since March 2007. The WMoA is dedicated to celebrating and preserving the place of women in Australia’s history in four permanent exhibitions. We are the only museum in Australia which holds a permanent collection of Australian women’s firsts from many Culturally and Linguistically Diverse backgrounds. Due to our collection, the WMoA has been deemed by the National Library as a Museum of National significance.

The WMoA is facing financial difficulties due to reduced visitor numbers, maintenance costs of the heritage facility, and limited revenue generation. Our operational revenue has been significantly reduced, and our small team of volunteers is working tirelessly to keep the museum operational.

To continue our mission of advancing equity and preserving the stories of women from diverse backgrounds, we need essential financial resources. Your donation would greatly contribute to the effective operation of our organisation.
