Preserve & Update Kooriweb.org
Donation protected
Kooriweb.org is the world’s oldest Indigenous owned, created, coded and controlled website. It’s an important archive of Indigenous history and activism in Australia. Since Kooriweb’s creator and owner, professor Gary Foley, has a degenerative eye disease that is sending him blind, and thus unable to maintain and update the site, he is seeking support to keep the site operational.
This seminal site preserves decades of documents and multimedia, as well as a legacy of Gary Foley’s lifelong contribution to documenting and synthesising this alternative history of the Aboriginal resistance.
Your donation will help us update Kooriweb, maintaining its importance to the Aboriginal struggle for justice for future generations.
How the money will be used:
✔ Develop and expand the content
✔ Bring Kooriweb up to date with a focus on accessibility
✔ Update the site’s information architecture to provide enhanced navigation and search functionality
✔ Make the site fully responsive for mobile and modern devices
