Preserving Sandy Ground's History

Want to join me in making a difference? I'm raising money to benefit and preserve the Sandy Ground community as well as the historic cottages of Rossville A M E Zion Church.  Sandy Ground was founded by FREE Blacks in 1828 in the southern end of Staten Island, NY.  It is listed on the National and State Registers of Historic Places and is the ONLY community in the US with descendants of the original settlers still living in the community.  Much has changed but the church remains the heartbeat of Sandy Ground and this historic hamlet has made many contributions to the African American fabric of Staten Island including being one of the stops on the Underground Railroad.  Any donation will help make an impact.
