Randy Chang's Memorial Fundraiser

Randolph Leiataua Chang, 64, passed away after a long battle with diabetes and renal kidney failure. Born on July 10, 1959, on the island of O’ahu, HI, to Moana’ala Elizabeth Chang and Frank Chang II, Randolph had an immense desire for knowledge. He loved exploring subjects from navigation to folklore, space, and his own culture.
Randolph was a dedicated member of the Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter Day Saints and had a passion for genealogy, not only for his family but also to help others connect their family histories. He believed in the importance of understanding and feeling proud of one's heritage.
As a teacher, Randolph taught hula for over four decades, sharing his knowledge and passion with anyone eager to learn. He gave everything he could to his students, embodying a spirit of generosity and dedication.
Randolph is survived by his three children, Joshua, Jordan, and Jacob Chang, and daughter-in-law Miyuu Hashimoto Chang. He also leaves behind his siblings Mei Ling, Roland (Jenel), Bruce (Kim), Normajean, Keoni (Jenny-Jean), Kaui, and Nani Chang, and his father Frank Chang II.
Randolph’s legacy continues through his eldest son Joshua, who will carry on his halau and teachings for future generations.
A funeral service will be held on 07/06/24 at 10:00am at 2000 Artesia Blvd, Torrance, CA 90504. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to this gofundme or venmo at Josh-Chang-9. The family would like to thank everyone for their care and support.
Randolph will be remembered for his love of learning, his dedication to teaching, and his commitment to helping others discover and connect with their heritage.
