If I Were The President Short Film

Donation protected
If I Were The President is a nationwide art project that asks youth under 18 years old what they would change if they were the President of the United States.

To bring this project to life, we are embarking on a cross-country journey in April to shoot a short film that collects the voices of a diverse group of youth who vary in age, gender, race, location, and socioeconomic status saying what they would change as President.

The project aims to collect half a million youth voices to serve as a snapshot of the dreams of this generation and to be delivered to the White House in hopes of making a strong, poetic statement about a future worth fighting for together.

Why are we doing this?

To address the problems of our society, we must reevaluate how we treat ourselves, one another, and the planet at large and we strongly feel that dreams in the inherently poetic voice of a child can bridge superficial divides and instigate meaningful change.

The short film serves to elevate the voices of these youth and share their message to a larger audience. It will be screened at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in June and will also be available online to spread the word about this initiative.

What are we using the money for?

We are raising $10,000 to cover costs for renting film equipment (camera package, sound equipment, hard drives, lighting, etc), flights to fives cities across the US, and basic lodging. Any unused funds will be donated to Larkin Street Youth Services, a non-profit working to end youth homelessness in San Francisco.
