Presidio Education® for Ukrainian Children

The Presidio Education®  faculty and students are organizing this fundraiser for the Ukrainian refugees. Please help us with this worthy cause. Proceeds from this GoFundMe drive are donated directly to UNICEF.

 

 

The War in Ukraine 

On Thursday, February 24, 2022, Russia opened a full-scale assault on Ukraine by land, sea and air. Russian military airstrikes continue to bomb Ukrainian cities and target civilian areas, such as maternity hospitals, apartment buildings and schools. Russia’s invasion continues to claim countless innocent lives, including families with children. 

 

The Russian invasion of Ukraine is an urgent crisis as Ukrainian citizens face mass killing and ethnic cleansing. Families are being torn apart as women, children and elderly flee for their lives while the men stay back to defend their country. Ukrainians are showing a strong sense of unity and resilience. Maintaining this kind of spirit under tremendous odds should inspire everyone. 

 

As of Wednesday, March 30, 2022, approximately 3.9 million Ukrainians have fled the country. Most have fled to Germany, Poland, Romania, Hungary, Moldova and Slovakia. As Russia’s attack does not appear to be stopping anytime soon, many more Ukrainians are expected to flee. 

 

 

Donating to UNICEF

In 1946, the United Nations established the United Nations Children’s Fund  (UNICEF) to support vulnerable children and families. Operating in more than 190 countries and territories, UNICEF provides humanitarian aid for various causes, such as geopolitical conflicts and natural disasters. 

 

However, after arriving in another country, Ukrainian refugees often struggle to obtain essential supplies and basic services. Ukrainian refugees often lack food, water, sanitary products and proper medical care. Children especially lack nutritional foods, safe drinking water, medicine and protection. By donating, money will go towards helping emergency needs for children. Additionally, each donation will go towards improving the well-being of a Ukrainian child despite the ongoing terrors of war.

 

 

About Us

Presidio Education®  is an education company headquartered in San Francisco, California, United States. Along with training high school students  for a variety of academic subjects and exams, our faculty works closely with students to develop sustainability projects. We teach students the importance of empathy and how to strengthen communities.

 

Ryan Young , Founder & CEO, heads both the English Department and Sustainability Team. Our faculty, including Wayne Man , Math & Social Science Teacher, and Martin Nobida , English Teacher, also lead many sustainability projects with students around the world. We work with homeless  people on the streets and impoverished children  in developing countries. 

 

Our high school students, including Angelina , Sustainability Team Project Leader, and Katherine , Sustainability Team Research Supervisor, are leading this Ukraine Impact Project 2022. The students are spreading awareness of the war in Ukraine and raising donations for the Ukrainian refugees.
