Preston's only working theatre needs your help
During the current Covid-19 epidemic Preston Playhouse Theatre has shut its doors temporarily. The theatre management believes the safety of our patrons and volunteer members is paramount. For this reason, in line with Government recommendations and guidance and the theatre industry of the UK, we have suspended all live stage performances until the guidelines change
We plan to keep you up to date with any developments via our website, Facebook page, Instagram and Twitter accounts
Our gratitude goes out to all patrons, supporters and volunteers for all the support we have received so far. We are working hard on ideas to come back with a fantastic season to bring back live entertainment in a safe environment
Preston has had the Playhouse Theatre at the heart of its amateur productions for over 70 years. Besides being the home venue of several local drama clubs, the Playhouse is also one of the city’s few remaining theatrical venues available for hire by other organisations. It has presented classics and contemporary theatre with musicals, pantomimes, concerts and light opera, and its funding comes through audiences and hires. With no shows that revenue stream has dried up but the theatre still has ongoing costs and overheads to cover. We need funds to get us through this difficult time so we need your help.
We have set up this GoFundMe page and are hoping you can donate to enable us to be here long into the future. Every donor will have their name placed on our “Round of Applause” Board which will go up in the Foyer as a thank you and recognition of your generosity. Your donation, however big or small, is both welcome and appreciated. The theatre management are exploring other ways to generate income but please help us with as much as you can.
