Walking 911 Miles to Raise Funds and Awareness
Event Details:
Dates: June 1, 2023 - September 11, 2023
Cause: Raising awareness about the higher-than-usual suicide rate among first responders
Our Mission:
Our first responders risk their lives daily to protect and serve our communities. Unfortunately, the toll of their heroic efforts can lead to emotional and mental health struggles, resulting in an alarming rate of suicides. We are determined to change this narrative.
The Journey
We invite you to be part of an incredible journey to support our first responders. From June 1, 2023, to September 11, 2023, we will be walking a total of 911 miles, symbolizing our dedication to raising funds and awareness.
Why 911 Miles?
The number 911 holds profound significance, reminding us of the tragic events of September 11, 2001. It serves as a poignant reminder of the bravery and sacrifice displayed by first responders on that fateful day.
To get an idea of how far 911 miles is, it is the equivalent of walking from Zeeland, Michigan to Macanaw Island, across the bridge, and back TWICE, plus roughly 50 miles!
How Can You Help?

The Last Steps on 9/11/23
On September 11, 2023, we will conclude this extraordinary journey with a 9.1-mile walk to JK Cafe, where we will honor these heroes with a complimentary breakfast. Join us in celebrating their courage, resilience, and unwavering commitment to our safety.
