PRIDE FOR OUR BLACK FAMILY
Tax deductible
Our black brothers and sisters are in actual crisis. They are dying in our streets with knees pressed against their airways, simply for being who they are. They are lynched in broad daylight for running within a society and system that has been against them from the start. Sound familiar? As a gay community we have an obligation to stand with other communities when they are being oppressed, because how can we expect to be supported when we need it, if we cower when they need it.
We are entering June, which would mark the start of Pride Month. The parties and outfits would be planned, the proud and affirming social posts would abound, and parades of joy and rainbow flags would stream through cities and towns around the world. But this year, to celebrate our Pride, we should celebrate theirs - let’s make Juneteenth stand for something through our community. Let’s show just how powerful an ally our community can be, because when you come for one of us, you come for all of us.
Your contribution will go to help the Black Lives Matter Foundation in their mission to help survivors and families that have suffered from the loss of a relative or loved one as a result of an unjust or questionable police action. Please, dig deep and spare what you can to help a community that needs all the help it can get right now.
Please share this gofundme with your gay friends and allies - because our community needs to do something. To all of our black brothers and sisters, we see you, we support you, and we will be there when you need us most.
