Primere Lewis with his hospital bills
Donation protected
Primere Lewis was born a preemie along with his twin sister, Prayher. They were 2 pounds each. He is the baby of 4 siblings but you can’t tell because now he is taller than his twin sister, his older sister and his mom. Primere loves working out and training for basketball. He had 2 camps that he was invited to attend in August. Sadly, he will not get to attend this year.
On August 3, Primere was burned by the gas grill. He loves to cook for his family and is always trying to be so helpful. His kind heart resulted in a traumatic accident. Even though he is the baby of our family he is very protective over us all. He is always smiling and joking with everyone. He lives up to his name with his positive energy and outgoing attitude. Everyone knows when Primere is in the building!
Primere has always been very mature. He is an A student and plays basketball. In 7th & 8th grade he played for North Myrtle Beach B-Team. His goal is to be in the NBA. He trains all day long for basketball. He has an uncle that gives him personal training as well as training with his teams. Since April he played with LAElite. This summer he also played with Coach Walkers North Myrtle Beach traveling team. Basketball is his life! We have to make him come inside at night from playing basketball.
This accident has halted everything he has been working for. His entire face was burned along with most of his left arm and leg. His right arm and leg have extensive burns as well. 18% of his body has been burned.
We have been in MUSC Children’s hospital’s burn unit since August 4. Primere had just finished his AAU season and started working at Chik-Fil-A. He loved working there for the couple of weeks that he had the opportunity to. He will be in the hospital for at least another week. After he gets to go home, we will travel back to Charleston, SC which is 2.5 hours from our home for follow up clinic visits.
The doctor expects a full recovery but it will be a long healing journey. He was supposed to start high school on August 15 with his twin sister. He won’t be able to attend until his burns have healed properly. The doctor expects he won’t be able to attend school until sometime in September if everything heals properly.
Any money we receive will go towards hospital bills, travel back and forth from Myrtle Beach to Charleston SC, as well as costs of staying at hotels for his treatments. God Bless you for your help!
