Hi my name is Gloria and I need your help! I am 3 years old and I just found out that I desperately need a heart procedure. My dad Justyn is a hardworking veterinary technician who dedicates his life to helping other animal lovers with their animals. My dad and the people at his work who love me are very worried about me.
I am probably the most enthusiastic dog you will ever meet. I love to play with other dogs and I love to go hiking with my dad. Unfortunately I have had a heart murmur ever since my dad got me as a puppy. When I try to run and and play I turn blue and can't catch my breath! Last week I finally got my heart ultrasound and the cardiologist determined that I have multiple congenital deformities in my heart. I have something called pulmonic stenosis (PS) which is caused by fused heart valves and I also have an opening between my heart chambers called patent foramen ovale (PFO). They cause the blood flow out of the right side of my heart to be very restricted and for blood without oxygen to be sent out to my body. Life isn't as fun when you don't get enough oxygen!
Because of my heart issues I have serious health risks including sudden death (!). The good news is that there is a heart procedure called balloon valvuloplasty that can help me tremendously! Cardiologist can, with high success rate, actually "balloon" open the narrow area and stretch open the heart valve leaflets to allow my blood to flow much better. This will allow me to play and live almost like a normal dog!
As you may have guessed this is a specialized procedure and as a veterinary technician my dad is not able to afford it on his own - not soon enough! We are asking for any financial assistance people are willing to give! The faster we can raise the money the sooner I can be out of danger and live like the happy dog I am! We will forever be grateful for you assistance!
