Princess Penny needs your help

Penny Bailey is a 71-year-old lady who, on 18th February 2023 had a simple but catastrophic fall in her own home. This was a fall that could happen to any one of us, a simple slip on water on her Kitchen floor. The result was life changing! Penny dislocated her left knee which ruptured major blood vessels and nerves. After receiving initial treatment at her local Warwick Hospital, Penny was then airlifted to the Princess Alexandra Hospital in Brisbane. After her Medical Team tried every treatment and performed numerous surgical procedures, the only option left was to proceed with an above-knee amputation. Whilst this has devastating consequences to Penny, it was the only outcome in the interests of her future health.
The long rehabilitation journey has commenced. That’s where your help comes in. Penny will need the assistance of a motorised scooter and wheelchair to regain her independence. Home modifications are also required to ensure Penny can return to her beloved home, her “castle” and be re-united with her much loved cats and dog. So much changed for Penny the moment she fell so I am hoping everyone can dig deep and help restore some normality to Penny’s life and give back to a lady who has done so much for her community over the years.
Let me tell you a bit about Penny’s life pre this awful accident. Penny is a very proud Mum of 5 children who are right by her side as she begins this healing process. Penny was raised in Newcastle, the eldest of 6. Her passions included riding horses, motorcycles, travelling and enjoying her retirement, pottering in her garden, adoring the company of her pets and many friends. Penny has had a long career as a Radiographer, known to many as “Princess Penny”, she has assisted many patients and their families through some of their worst times. This career has seen Penny make many contributions to her communities in Warwick, Narribri and Toowoomba. She is a familiar face to many in these towns.
Please donate what you can, every cent will go to Penny to help her on this path to living her best life once again. Penny thanks you from the bottom of her heart x
