Pringle's Surgery Cost

Hello! I'm Bri, and Pringle is my Aussie-doodle. He's a year and a half years old, very fond of licking your face and ears, and a compulsive mechanical pencil snatcher.

Recently I've noticed him limping on his back leg off and on, so I took him to get it looked at. An X-ray confirmed that he has a Luxating Patella, which means that his kneecap moves out of place easily. His vet said he is at stage 3, and that means they can still push it back into place for now, but he needs surgery soon so that he isn't living with daily pain.

I was able to purchase his pain medicine today and he's going to be resting, but until he has surgery he's not supposed to do much playing with other dogs or running around, and that's not very fair to Pringle because he's not even 2 years old and he loves to run and play! I hate keeping him on light duty just because I can't afford surgery for him right away.

The surgery would have them go in and correct the shape of the bone to make it a snug fit for his knee. It's a very high success rate surgery that he would only need one time, and it would limit any bone scarring and help prevent him from having any worse arthritis than he already will have from this condition. The vet quoted me $2800 for the surgery which includes all of his follow-ups, a night there with nice IV pain meds, and all of his take-home meds. While I know other vets may offer varying prices, I also feel very strongly that this vet office is the safest place for my dogs, as they have always been fair and kind and they also saved my other dog from Parvo.

Funds from this fundraiser will be put directly towards his medical bill. If there are any excess funds by any chance they will be put towards his continued care, such as if he needs any special beds/harnesses/slings/etc after his surgery.

Please help me pay for this surgery if you're able, or spread the word if you're not. Pringle is too young to be stuck resting all the time. Running is his very favorite thing!
