Print to Protect (COVID-19)

***Print to Protect is NOT a non-profit organization. This is not a charitable contribution to a 501(c)(3). You will be gifting to an individual making and providing personal protective equipment for medical professionals fighting COVID-19 on the front lines.***

We are a group of 3D printers and volunteers across the DC area who are providing FREE personal protective equipment (PPE) to medical professionals fighting COVID-19 on the front lines.

Print to Protect’s mission is to protect those who protect us. Founded spontaneously through a network of local 3D printers, the organization aims to provide free personal protective equipment to healthcare workers in the DC area and beyond.   

We are currently focusing our efforts on making face shields that, when used in conjunction with a medical face mask, provide CDC-recommended levels of personal protection.

We are producing completed face shields at a cost near $5 per completed part, and have a growing production capacity already at 15,000 shields for the month of April. We need support to help purchase 3D printing filament, clear plastic for the shields, elastic straps and supplies for packaging and sanitation to make this project possible. All completed protective equipment is donated to healthcare workers at zero cost.
