Help Cover Legal Costs for Pro-Palestine Activists

For months, community members have been taking to the streets to stand up for Palestinian liberation and protest US-complicity in the ongoing genocide. As our strength has grown, so have local efforts to repress and silence those speaking out. Numerous activists have been arrested over the last six months and are now facing prosecution for alleged protesting efforts. While these attempts to scare and silence us will only further galvanize our movement, our comrades are facing mounting financial burdens from these repressive tactics. Court dates are resulting in legal fees, lost wages, childcare costs, and more. We are asking for financial support from the community in standing behind those being targeted within our movement.

Funds raised will go directly towards costs for those being charged, helping cover legal fees, travel costs for court appearances, childcare/eldercare, lost wages, mental health support around navigating the criminal justice system, and other such associated costs for individuals subjected to this process.

Our current goal of $30k is based on projected legal fees and associated costs for the coming months. We will update our target as we know more about the support needs of the various individuals currently impacted by local police and court repression. Any excess funds raised at the end of these legal proceedings will be donated to other local legal support and bail funds (with updates and details shared here).

Right now we are fundraising for around six individuals facing charges. Our goals and cost breakdown will be updated as we potentially expand to include more individuals facing legal repression and in need of support.
