“Down in Virginia”

Hi friends and family! I am currently raising money to release “Down in Virginia,” (attached). Specifically, the money raised will be used to mix, master, and market the song.
This is a song I wrote about black personhood in the South. This song is important. I know it will help soothe a lot of collective hurting within the black community, and I am hopeful that it might rally and mobilize BIPOC allies. It is tender, but assertive. Vulnerable, yet blunt. I’m hoping that the release of this song can generate enough money for me to release my other resistance songs. Any remaining revenue revenue from this song that is not used to cut the rest of the album will be directly given to black community groups. I don’t want to make a profit from this song; that is not what it is for. It is simply meant to be a tool for healing and for resisting.
