Project Bread Basket

Blessings to you all, my name is Joe Simmons and I am the Executive Director of Community Development Project 2000 (CDP 2000). CDP 2000 is a non-profit organization that is committed to meeting the needs of the underserved members of our community. We were birthed from a church ministry, New Liberty Tabernacle of Praise, and we were incorporated on January 26, 2000. In an effort, to serve the impoverished members of our community, we developed and implemented a daycare, summer camps, unity thanksgiving meals, and our fatherhood initiative program, to uplift our people from a place of desperation to prosperity. Now through CDP 2000, the efforts have grown to be able to join hands with local businesses, churches, the City of Gadsden and other non-profit organizations to truly become a HAND OUT and a HAND UP for people in need.

The purpose of this fundraiser is to bring our dream of a One-Stop HAND OUT and HAND UP facility. We want this place to be a beacon for support and rehabilitation for our community, and we can't do it without your help.

We’ve already purchased the building and have already started making way for the facility, but there is a laundry list of things we need to do to bring to it to where it needs to be. This campaign is just the initial step of our efforts. This is a multi phase project that will require an immense infusion of funds to bring it to completion.
