Project Conor - Odesa

The Key to the Future is an organisation in Odesa, Ukraine set up by mothers of children with special needs and disabilities. They provide support to over 400 children and their families.

ONE4HUMANITY has been supporting the Key to the Future with funding, medication and clinical supplies since March 2024.

Critical Aid

In 8 months, ONE4HUMANITY have provided critical aid for over 90 children with special needs including children receiving palliative care.

• Clinical food and nutrition

• Other supplies e.g. generator for oxygen machines

DayCare

A day care centre catering for 24 children, between the ages of 6 and 18 was opened in June 2024. The centre is currently being expanded to accommodate up to 60 children.

ONE4HUMANITY provided funds and building materials for the initial development and support the ongoing running costs. The centre includes a sensory room, Montessori room, classroom, psychology room and kitchen.

Other

ONE4HUMANITY have provided funding and facilitated practical medical support to the Key to the Future including:

• Funded 10 day summer camp in Bulgaria for 22 children with special needs.

• Medical advice and support by Prof Chris Fitzpatrick and Prof Gerard Bury (Ukraine Trauma Project), Prof Lyudmyla Zakharchenko (consultant neonatologist, Rotunda Hospital) and Dr Kateryna Kachurets.
