Namaste, this is Joe and Bibatshu!
We are seniors at Colby College. This past summer, we won a Projects for Peace $10,000 grant to run a high impact social project. As part of our project, we traveled to Mainapokhari, Dolakha, Nepal with an intention of using the internet to promote agriculture. We called our venture "Project Digital Kisan." So far, we have been able to provide internet connection to 17 households, 1 vet center, 1 old age care home, and increased the bandwidth of the community hospital to support the doctors and other individuals in the community. Our hope was that with the internet, farmers are able to connect better with the market, in turn, helping their economic prosperity and incentivizing agricultural growth.
We would love to continue supporting this community, and we are humbly asking for your help. Estimated $74 pays for one year of internet subscription for one household. Any financial support you provide can change lives of many farmers and their families.
Thank you very much for your support. This project would never have been possible without the generosity and commitment of the Davis family, and we hope to continue this important work with the support and encouragement of you all, OUR community <3
