Project Ilyas
Project Ilyas
I'm raising money in honour of my late beloved father marhoom Mohammed Ilyas Mughal via Zarina Foundation to build a madrassah complex in Kinane which is a small village situated in Kaloleni, Kenya.
The village consists of about 140 Muslim families. There are nearby villages accessed by the same road. In this area there is no purpose-built Masjid. The locals must travel to other Masjids for Friday (Juma) and Eid Salat, which is a fair distance away. I will be there for the opening and first Salah Inshaa Allah.
A landowner has donated a piece of land for the purpose of building a Masjid, Madrasah, Orphanage and housing for an Imam.
My father was born in Kenya so me and my family wanted to do something within Kenya with the intention of visiting every year and keeping it running by supporting it through donations.
In Sha Allah it is the intention to start the project after Eid-ul-Adah (End of July 2021). The duration of the project is expected to take three months to complete.
For the proposed project we intend to build the following:
· Single level Masjid (30ft x 30ft) - £13,500
· 4 x Toilets – Masjid & Ablution - £1,000
(Separate ablutions for men & women)
· Madrasah Classrooms x 2 - £7,000
· Single level Imam house, main sitting room, two bedrooms, internal kitchen, external toilet/shower room - £2,500
· Dormitory x 2 (boys & girls) to house 20 children in each - £8,500
· Kitchen / Dinning room for the Orphanage - £7,000
The total project cost is to be at least £35,000 which is an estimated figure which will complete the whole project for my late father Ilyas Mughal. Any funds raised above this amount will go towards the running costs for the project which are to be approximately £5,000 per year.
The messenger of Allah (saw) said: "Whoever builds a masjid (mosque) in which the Name of Allah is mentioned, Allah will build a house for him in Paradise." [Ibn Majah]
I have the project plans and costings and Inshaa Allah upon commencement of the work, we will be registering the project in Kenya under a Waqf (Trust) so as to safeguard the project for the benefit of the community for the purpose it will be built for, for as long as Allah SWT wills. The land has been donated to us for the purposes of this project by a local villager; please see the video below.
Sahl ibn Sa’d reported: The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Myself and the caretaker of an orphan will be in Paradise like this,” and he held his two fingers together. [Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī 5659]
My father was a helping hand for many within the community. Many people say that he was their best friend highlighting the great ties he maintained with everybody he met, regardless of their age and background. Humbly resolving issues for the community without reward or benefit became his mission in life. This project will provide benefit to both the giver and the receiver and their respective families until the end of time.
May Allah SWT reward you abundantly and bless this project Inshaa Allah.
