Support A New Greener Kew

We've been working really hard building the new Kew and we’re getting closer, but we need your help to cross the finish line! As part of the planning conditions for re-building Kew we have to put solar panels on the building, this was an unexpected additional cost when we were initially budgeting and planning for this re-build.

So because of this, Rob Adams, our vice-chair who has been project managing the Kew rebuild, has been working hard to secure external funding to cover the costs of solar panels to make the new Kew more sustainable. We've been lucky enough to secure some grants to get things rolling and thanks to many of you who bought calendars we’ve managed to get a good amount of the way to covering the costs of the solar panels. But we're still £6,500 short. We're keen to make this new building as eco-friendly as possible, so are looking to raise another £3,000 to edge ever closer to covering the costs for the solar panels.

But here's why we’re trying as hard as we can to get solar panels onto new Kew: these solar panels aren't just good for the environment; they're going to be a game-changer for our small charity too. By generating clean, renewable energy, we'll save heaps on electricity bills in the long run. That means more resources and funds to put towards the important work we do - like bird conservation, research, and education. So a donation towards these solar panels, is a donation towards Spurn Bird Obs to continue our work in the future, improving the habitat of the Spurn area for birds!

So, here's the deal: we're calling on you, our amazing supporters, to chip in and help us make this happen. Every penny counts, whether it's a little or a lot. Together, we can power our new Kew building with clean and renewable energy.

We’re really amazed by the support we have already received, and it would be even more amazing if we can reach our target and install these solar panels on the new Kew. Just £3 from 1000 supporters of Spurn Bird Observatory would mean we hit our target of £3,000 and a donation of £6.50 would mean we cover the overall costs of the solar panels!

Ready to donate to help support this project? Any amount really will make a difference!
Once you’ve donated don’t forget to share the good cause and ask your friends and family to donate as well, let's make a difference together!

Many thanks
