Ebola, hantavirus, and dengue virus are names of terrifying viruses that we have talked about but never truly been affected by. However, now our own lives have been altered. As of July 21st, 2020, there have been 15,063,083 confirmed cases and 619,194 deaths worldwide due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Scared, our society has been practicing social distancing to reduce the individual risk of getting COVID-19 and its deadly symptoms. However, our first line of defense for the virus, our healthcare workers, are exempt from self-quarantine. Risking their lives every day, doctors, nurses, and first responders face the risk of contracting COVID-19, while selflessly serving and protecting our communities. Additionally, with the impending shortage of PPE (personal protection equipment), there are many in need of protection worldwide!
Project Maskify is a local effort to try and change these terrifying statistics. By making handmade masks with a design endorsed by several media outlets, we aim to curb the spread of COVID-19. ProjectMaskify has partnered with numerous healthcare facilities, fire & police departments, nursing homes, and homeless shelters worldwide! Our aim is to donate 5000 masks, globally!
Thank you for your generous support!
