Project Obuasi (Ghana)

We are educators in Union City and Newark, New Jersey who are passionate about educational equality and access for all. We've partnered with a school in Obuasi, Ghana and this July will be traveling there to volunteer at the school and community and meet the students who have been pen-pals with our students over the course of this school year.

The “me” in this GoFundMe is the community of Obuasi. Our flights and accommodations are booked and thanks to Lynn (Marc’s mom) we’ve sent an entire barrel filled with all of the materials we’ll need to run our program. Many friends and relatives have inquired about donating clothing and shoes and have asked us how they can also support the community. This campaign is created for that purpose! No contribution is too small (and we are grateful for all!). Here are some ideas of what your funding can help us contribute toward:

-  With $240 USD, we can purchase additional barrels to ship more donations. 

- With $600 USD, we can sponsor the private education for one child for an entire school year. 

If you cannot contribute monetarily but would like to send a letter or note to a student in Obuasi, we welcome that gesture of love as well! Thank you in advance for your support!
