We are Matteo and Lorenzo, two passionate and acclaimed Italian authors whose works have garnered international recognition at esteemed film festivals worldwide "Shelter ", "Honor ", and "UV - A Resistance Story ". Today, we stand before you to share our vision and seek your support for our most ambitious project to date: "Project Walid," a captivating documentary that will change hearts and minds.

"Project Walid," tells the extraordinary story of Walid Cheddira, a young Moroccan-born individual who has defied all odds to become a symbol of triumph and inspiration. Through a seamless blend of breathtaking footage from his sports career and intimate interviews with his family, childhood friends, and teachers, we will uncover Walid's remarkable journey from humble beginnings in the Italian province to his triumphant international debut in 2022 with the Moroccan national team.

Inspired by the narrative structure of renowned documentaries such as "The Last Dance" and "Redeem Team", our documentary will offer a profound glimpse into Walid's life, showcasing his unyielding determination, his sacrifices, and his unwavering commitment to pursuing his dream in the world of football. By giving voice to those who have witnessed his struggles and successes firsthand, we aim to paint a vivid and heartfelt portrait of Walid, highlighting how his indomitable spirit and the unwavering support of his community have propelled him to unimaginable heights.

“Project Walid” ci porterà a conoscere la storia del giovane attaccante loretano Walid Cheddira, dagli inizi nella provincia italiana sino al debutto in un mondiale con la nazionale dei suoi genitori. Con un mix perfetto di immagini di repertorio ed interviste con familiari, amici, parenti, tifosi e compagni di un tempo, mostreremo il lato più umano e sincero dell’uomo che si nasconde dietro al calciatore.

Ispirandoci alla struttura narrativa dei recenti successi di "The Last Dance" e "Redeem Team", il nostro documentario punta a mostrare la dedizione e l’impegno attraverso le difficoltà necessarie per raggiungere il proprio sogno e dando voce a coloro che lo hanno visto crescere e formarsi mostreremo il come il suo spirito indomabile e la sua abnegazione lo abbiano portato a raggiungere risultati incredibili.

We are thrilled to announce that we have completed the pre-production phase, garnering the enthusiastic support of Walid himself and the Loreto community, where filming will commence on June 19th. Thanks to our sponsors’ generous contributions and savings, we have covered over €25,000 of the necessary expenses, including equipment, vehicles, accommodation, food, and insurance. However, we now turn to you, not for our benefit, but to ensure that the 8 dedicated individuals working alongside us on set receive the compensation they deserve. To achieve this, we urgently require a minimum of €15,000.

Grazie al generoso contributo dei nostri sponsor e I nostri risparmi, siamo riusciti a chiudere tutte le fasi di preparazione del progetto coprendo le spese necessarie come attrezzatura, veicoli, alloggi, cibo e assicurazioni per una spesa totale di oltre 25.000€, per permetterci di girare a Loreto dal 19 giugno. Ora però, ci occorre il vostro aiuto. Non per noi, ma per le 8 persone che lavoreranno con noi sul set e che meritano di essere riconosciute nel loro lavoro. Perché dopo la rinuncia di un nostro sponsor per “motivazioni politiche”, mancano 15.000€ per chiudere il budget.

[ITA] OBIETTIVI DEL DOCUMENTARIO

La nostra idea per questo documentario va oltre il semplice intrattenimento. Vogliamo che il pubblico empatizzi con il protagonista, che i giovani possano vederci un modello positivo da seguire, volgiamo dimostrare come l’abnegazione, la passione incontrollata e la dedizione ad un obbiettivo possano infrangere ogni ostacolo e barriera che si pongono sulla nostra strada e permetterci di raggiungere qualsiasi obbiettivo ci si prefigga. Vogliamo che il pubblico creda nel proprio potenziale per inseguire i propri sogni e vincere ogni sfida della vita.

Inoltre, con questo documentario vogliamo mostrare come il senso di appartenenza ad una comunità e il legame indissolubile con le proprie radici siano le basi per integrarsi in qualsiasi contesto e aprire nuove possibilità, mostrando come ciò abbia contribuito alla carriera di Walid. Speriamo e vogliamo che attraverso le sue esperienze, si possa mantenere aperto il canale del dialogo e del confronto sulle diversità e l’inclusività.
