The Outline
All funds will go towards visa expenses. Every contribution, no matter the size, brings us one step closer to starting our lives together and building a forever home and a family. If you can’t donate, sharing this campaign with others would mean the world to us. Thank you so much for taking the time to read our story and for any support you can provide. We are forever grateful for your kindness.

Our words on Long Distance Relationships
It's like living with your heart in two places. The distance has taught us patience and reminds us that love is not just about proximity, but about the depth of our connection. It’s the quiet confidence that, no matter how far apart we are, our want for a united family is strong enough to bring us back. It’s a journey of believing that one day the "see you later" won't mean months but hours and wont be two plane rides away but a simple car ride coming home from work. It’s the small things - sitting down and eating dinner together, being allowed to even talk about children and joint finances. The visa is not just a piece of paper; it’s the key to our future and our right to family life.

Why £80,000?

The Minimum Income Requirement
"Starting on April 11th 2024, the financial threshold for all family visas is £29,000, with a further rise to £34,500 later in 2024 and then to £38,700 by early 2025." (you can read more about this here)

Given that there are only four months left in 2024, it's becoming clear that moving forward with the Visa process might not be feasible until 2025, especially with the minimum requirements increasing even further. Since Nathaniel doesn't have a salaried position that meets the yearly income threshold, we would need to rely on our savings. This makes the required amount even more challenging to reach - £88,500 (you can read more about this here) which is a steep mountain to climb.

About Nathaniel
I'm 24 years old and have lived in the same village my whole life, just like my mother and grandmother before me. This place is more than just home - it's where my roots are and where I’ve watched the world change alongside the people I care about. For over six years, I worked at the local Co-op Food shop, serving my neighbours through thick and thin. I’ve seen it all, from the frenzy of people panic-buying bread and milk whenever it snowed, to the chaos of the COVID-19 pandemic when toilet rolls flew off the shelves. Those years taught me resilience and the importance of community, but eventually, I felt like I had reached a point where I could no longer grow in that role. It was time to move on, even though it was a tough decision. I’m ready for a new chapter, and all I want is a chance for me and Karin to build a life together. I wish more than anything that I could do this all on my own for us, but with the new immigration regulations, it feels nearly impossible for a 24 year old like me to make it happen.

About Karin
I’m 26 years old with a background in multimedia design, born in Denmark. I have always been captivated by the way art, design, and technology can come together to tell stories, inspire change, and bring ideas to life. Through Covid I lost my job so I had to move back home with my parents and although I felt ashamed being in my twenties and moving back home I was grateful that I had that option - when I know many didn’t. In the heart of it all I relied on my relentless optimism and I took the opportunity of continuing my studies while saving up to eventually move out again. As much as I'm a dreamer, I also think in solutions. When Brexit happened and members of the EU no longer had the opportunity to travel/work freely in the UK anymore, it made it near impossible to move in with Nathaniel and suddenly the idea of motherhood and creating a living with the man of my dreams seemed doomed. Especially because I was still financially recovering after Covid 19 and being a student - but again, there is a solution, so we'll find it - and sometimes that solution means asking for help, in this case financially.

With all our love and gratitude.
