Help Mom, 30, Have More Time With Her Children
Donation protected
*UPDATE*
We are no longer taking donations for palliative chemotherapy, but we would love nothing more than to be able to allow Amie to live whatever is left and make some precious memories with her children & fiancé. We can explore other avenues with the kind & generous donations that you are donating, the world is our oyster with your help. THANKYOU from the bottom of our hearts. Without you; this would not be possible. Keep pushing, fighting alongside us & share where you can, we don’t know who will see this that can help .. We are #AMIESARMY
Hiya, My name is Jess Davies, A proud best friend of a young Mom called Amie Walton. We recently turned 30 years old & have been best friends since we were 11. You may have seen us (AmiesArmy) fighting to save Amies life over the last 18 months. If you haven't, let me briefly tell you the terrible life-changing news that has turned our lives upside down.
On 24/09/2020, Amie was diagnosed with Stage 4 Bowel Cancer that had spread to her Liver. Everything was going pretty well, apart from her feeling poorly from the Chemo & we had high hopes & after all, if anyone were going to beat this, it would be this superwoman/mom. As the months went by, a few operations down, the Oncologist gave us the shattering news that the chemotherapy wasn't working and her Liver was worsening. We tried all sorts of research, seeing if there were anyone abroad that could help, second & third opinions, you name it. Luckily it led us to a treatment called SIRT. Unfortunately, SIRT (Selective Internal Radiotherapy Treatment) isn't available on the NHS, so we were assured that if we could raise funds (£35,000), Amie would be eligible to have this private treatment. This would give her a vast fighting chance & Amie was lucky enough that she could have not one but two rounds of SIRT as we raised funds within weeks, thanks to shares on social media, donations, publicity from the press & hard work from everyone involved.
Although the SIRT had worked wonders, it only has a 'Shelf Life' of around Six months, where we were hoping she would be able to have a Liver Resection in that time. While recovering from her treatment, the Cancer has spread, adding 50 tumours to each Lung. This devastating news has come within the last six weeks. Amie has been in and out of hospital for a month and is still there now battling Neutropenic Sepsis, a whole-body reaction to an infection. It's a severe condition that can be life-threatening.
Amongst all this, Amie has now been given the devastating news, regardless of everyone's efforts, that there is nothing more that can be done as Chemotherapy is no longer working & the Cancer is extremely aggressive. Amie's life can be prolonged with Palliative Chemo, but it will cost £2,000 a month. Palliative chemotherapy is typically used when the cancer has spread and chemotherapy is not being used to cure the cancer. The main goal of palliative treatment is to improve quality of life.
I am begging the public, for one last push, to help me find the funds so that we can give her as many months possible with her children Harry, 8 & Mia, who is 6, Chris, her Fiance, her parents, siblings, family, friends & all those who have been invested in this gruelling journey. Amie isn't just anyone; she is kind, a true fighter & represents any young mom who will not give up. She is the most incredible Mother & the fact that she is being stripped of watching her children grow up is heartbreaking.
She isn't giving up & neither are we!
We don't know how long Amie has left with us in this world, but together, we can do whatever it takes to give her as much time as we can to shine bright like she always does & make those final last memories with those she loves & more importantly with her beloved children who adore her more than anything.
I ask, please, do & give whatever you can to help us raise this money so that Amie can have precious time with us all, Especially Harry & Mia.
Although the target is £12,000 (6 months' worth of treatment), we hope Amie will have much more time with us, so please don't stop there!
Amie WILL NOT go down without a fight. You can help us give her that chance!
If I had any advice to you & you find yourself in this situation, do whatever it takes for those you love. Be kind, love unconditionally & tell people how much you care. Tomorrow isn’t promised, but you can make today count! Hold those you love a little closer tonight
Love & Best Wishes, A proud Best Friend Xo
