Support Promotion Challenge to Uganda Big League 2

Donation protected
Our Twitter account @UgandanCherries are now known (by Jinja District FA and the Global AFCB Family) as Kakira Cherries FC, reflecting the Community Ancestral Home, near Jinja, Uganda.

The self-named ‘Bournemouth Academy Uganda’, as was initially instigated by a tweet from Kizza Joshua on social media during October 2020, asking for help in obtaining AFCB football shirts.
Kizza is the school’s football Coach and a massive AFC Bournemouth supporter and has been for a number of years, following-on from one of his family relatives in Bugembe, Jinja.
I replied to him on his Twitter DM and rest is history…..

We agreed setting up a ‘donation page’ to enable help and support the Orphans (All under 19 years) from Ibun School Orphanage to wear AFC Bournemouth kit, due to their massive allegiance to the Football Club and in particular to AFCB Captain Steve Cook, at that time…(Who's now with Nottingham Forest FC)….
The amazing ‘global interest’ has just grown from there.....
The various ‘GoFundMe' projects I started, have now received a huge £20K+ in donations, to date, which have far exceeded the targets set and much, much, more mainly from very generous AFCB fans globally and also some generous AFCB players.

I had to carry out ‘due diligence’, to ensure whom we were speaking with, which took a while, but we got there…. since then, I have been in regular contact on social media with Coach Kizza Joshua and Headmaster Mawanda Albert, at the Ibun Orphanage School.

Importantly, the 'Main Aim' still remains to continue providing further training equipment, football kit and general everyday life-support assistance over the future time and to hopefully inspire the children and to give them some positive focus in life, to enable, may be just one, to become a Top-Level Professional Footballer, for AFC Bournemouth.
What an achievement that would be for the Ibun Orphanage School, Bugembe, Jinja, Uganda.

Jinja District League 5
Recently, with the help of AFCB fan's support, Coach Kizza officially applied and was accepted by the Jinja District FA, entry into their Official District League 5.
I am very pleased to report that Kakira Cherries FC were proudly at the Top of the League for most of the season and successfully gained promotion to League 4, an amazing effort.

Jinja District League 4
Achieving Promotion to League 4 has really put Ugandan Cherries (Kakira Cherries FC) of the Jinja District FA, on the 'Ugandan footballing map' regarding their football playing quality, positive attitude and their focussed determination to succeed.
Additional donations/funding for upgrading their Training Kit, Football Boots, AFCB Team Football Kit, Footballs and other items such as First Aid Kit, Away Travelling expenses, Refereeing Match Fees, Security personnel and also some needed Pitch Improvements were undertaken, through the many generous donations from the AFCB Family, globally.
Following a long, hard and gruelling season I am very pleased to say that Kakira Cherries FC gained promotion, through the Zonal Play-Offs, to reach Regional League 3, the third-tier level in Ugandan Football, an absolutely amazing achievement.
