Protect 2SLGBTQIA Youth from Westboro Baptist Church in TX

Hate has no place in our communities, and we believe love can be our most powerful form of protest. Pennies In Protest is a way for all of us to peacefully respond to hate by turning it into something positive. Every penny you donate will go directly to support 2SLGBTQIA+ causes affected by the harmful actions of hate groups like Westboro Baptist Church, Proud Boys and Gays Against Groomers.

It's simple. By donating through GoFundMe, every contribution is completely transparent. At the end of this fundraiser, we will send a heartfelt thank-you card to the Westboro Baptist Church, letting them know that their hateful actions have inspired our community to give to local GSA programs in schools.

On November 14, 2024, Westboro Baptist Church plans to protest at North Dallas High School and on November 15, 2024, at Highland Park High School both in Dallas, TX. In response, the Parasol Patrol and other 2SLGBTQIA+ organizations will be present at these schools to shield kids and young people from hateful messages. The Parasol Patrol uses their signature rainbow umbrellas to block the signs and angry faces. This is NOT a counter-protest! We are there for the kids, to protect them and show them they are loved and supported not *in spite* of who they are but *because* of who they are!

All donations from this fundraiser will be split to benefit North Dallas HS GSA (33%), Highland Park HS GSA (33%), and Parasol Patrol (33%) to help cover costs of extra umbrellas, insurance, and other resources needed to provide a peaceful barrier against hate.
