Hello, my name is Ahmed, and I’m reaching out to you with a heavy heart and a desperate plea for help. Our family is facing a dire situation, and we need your support to protect my younger siblings from harm.
My father is trying to take my two younger sisters, aged 13 and 11, and my younger brother, who is 16, out of the country to Kenya. This isn’t just about relocation—it’s about their safety and well-being.
The most terrifying part is that once they leave the country, my sisters are at serious risk of undergoing female genital mutilation (FGM)—a practice that is not only illegal where we live but also deeply harmful, traumatic, and irreversible. Our mother and I are terrified. Once they are gone, we will have no way to protect them.
What makes this even more heartbreaking is that our father has a documented history of abuse. He broke my younger sister’s arm, and as a result, he was banned from seeing his children because the court ruled him to be an unfit father. That should have been the end of it. But once the judge who made that decision retired, my father found a way back through the system. Over time, and without proper evaluation, he was able to regain custody.
Now, despite everything that has happened, he has legal access again—and he’s trying to take my siblings out of the country, possibly for good.
As their older brother, I’m heartbroken and frustrated. I was never even asked where I wanted to live when I turned 18—I was simply handed over to him. I know my younger siblings haven’t been asked either. If they had a choice, they would stay with our mother, where they feel safe and loved.
We are doing everything we can to fight this, but the legal system is expensive and overwhelming. We’re asking for your help to raise enough money to pursue a new court case and put every legal measure in place to keep my siblings in the country and protect them from harm.
