Protect anti-racists, stop neo-Nazis

Donation protected
In early December the family home of anti-racist and Indigenous rights activists and unionists Paddy Gibson and Nat Wasley was attacked by neo-Nazis. They smashed and kicked the front door of the house and it appeared that they were going to force their way in the house and attack them. Neighbours were called and the neo-Nazis left the house after ripping a security screen off the front window and putting a chair through the window.

Thankfully, their children were not at home at the time of the attack.

Police are investigating the incident as a politically-motivated neo-Nazi attack. Paddy played a prominent role in the Black Lives Matter demonstrations last year and is also a unionist and NTEU member. Nat is a long-time anti-nuclear activist and is an elected member of her MUA Union Committee and Safety Committee as well as a Health and Safety Rep in Port Botany.

Thankfully, Nat and Paddy’s children were not at home at the time of the attack.

Nat and Paddy won’t be moving house, and the local community has rallied to support the family. But they need to do some substantial work to repair damage, upgrade fencing, secure the doors and windows, and install a security camera and alarm system.

This attack is an attempt to intimidate and silence activists and stop them from doing their important work. We must take a stand against it.

Your contributions are very welcome.
