Bluff Lake Nature Center Conservation Project
Donation protected
Hello,
I am Lou Schiller. I am a Life Scout from Troop 62. I am currently working on my Eagle Project which is my last step to achieving the eagle scout rank. My scouting journey started in Atlanta, Georgia where I joined the Cub Scouts. We did many fun things while I was there, but my favorite was spending the night on the USS Yorktown in Charleston, SC. Eventually the pack had fallen apart and dissolved, ending my time as a cub scout. Then I moved to Colorado because my parents missed the snow and winter sports. When I moved to Colorado, I thought that scouting has to be way cooler in Colorado because of the snow and mountains, which was correct. I joined Troop 62 in October of 2021
I am currently a Life Scout with 27 merit badges and over 50 nights of camping and 40 service hours. This is my last step to becoming an Eagle Scout. I plan to achieve it when I'm young, so I do not have to worry about getting it done before I'm too old. Now I can go to the campouts and have fun with lots of time to still be active in the troop.
My project will be at Bluff Lake Nature Center, this place is an outdoor plant and wildlife center where people in my community take walks, go bird watching and spend time with family learning about the local environment.
My project will be building a post-style fence with the purpose of reminding people to stay on trail and protect wildlife. The fence will be made from wood and rope and will be a bit over 600 ft total to be installed. The area I wish to build this fence is a highly used area where visitors can continually practice shelter building. This area has experienced much of trampled and dying grass as no official boundary is in place. My wish is to raise enough money to be able to bring this to life and have it serve a purpose in Bluff Lake. My goal is to finish the project by the end of November.
This is my second attempt at an Eagle Scout proposal since my first try well apart. My first attempt was for a kiosk and bow racks at the Rocky Flats Wildlife Park. The general reason why it fell through was miscommunication with the expected timeline.
I would really appreciate it if you could donate to my Boy Scout Eagle Project. My goal is to raise $1,500 dollars to cover all expenses for the project.
Thank you for your consideration
