Protect Chinatown

Across the nation, our friends, families, and neighbors in the Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) community are facing a surging threat of racial violence. These incidents have increasingly worsened: from verbal racial slurs, to unprovoked punches, to mass shootings. 

   Protect Chinatown is an organization for the people by the people. It is founded on the principles of engaging and supporting the, often discounted, AAPI communities. We are fellow Asian Americans with roots in New York City. But more importantly, we are a united group committed to making a difference.

   This responsibility to our community aims to bridge the gap between generations while safeguarding centuries of philosophies and morals that were given to us. Protect Chinatown remains committed to encouraging patronage, supporting growth, and upholding the rich culture that is the Asian American and Pacific Islander community.

Where do my donations go? 

Our services aim to provide security and confidence to anyone who is fearful walking alone. Outside of standard operating costs, Protect Chinatown provides volunteers with equipment such as flashlights, whistles, masks, first-aid kits, sanitizers, and apparel. These items will be extremely helpful to our volunteers, especially when they’re participating in chaperone requests, external volunteer opportunities, or community safety walks.

Safety is one of our pillars (along with awareness and collaboration), so we are continuously growing our safety efforts. Be on the lookout for new opportunities to help! Our most recent was the procurement of personal alarms. We hope to distribute these to members of the community as an added sense of security when our volunteers are not around.

Be the voice. Share this campaign with your friends and family. Spread the word that they are not alone, and together we can make a difference to overcome these tumultuous times.
