Protect M.G.: Help Logan Secure Custody

My name is Logan Gifford, and I’m a survivor of a nightmare I never chose. From age 10 to 16, I endured sexual assault by my own mother, Doreene Gifford, who was sentenced to 8-20 years in prison after taking a plea deal in 2015. Now, at 26, my story has gained media attention, and I’m overwhelmed by the support from so many of you—thank you. Your encouragement keeps me going as I face the road ahead.

This isn’t just about me anymore. I’m in a custody battle for my 15-year-old brother, who I’ve cared for since January after he lived with our father, Theodore Gifford. I believe he might be my son, a haunting possibility tied to the abuse I suffered around the time he was conceived. I’ve filed a paternity petition to get answers, not just for me, but for him—he deserves the truth. The court process is tough, and with his cognitive struggles and our complicated family history, I need help to secure his future and give him the life he deserves.

I’m also speaking out for male survivors everywhere. Growing up, I faced shame, disbelief, and a system that didn’t see me—social services missed the signs and left me unprotected. Too many men suffer in silence, and I’m determined to change that. This fight is about raising awareness, pushing for better support, and showing the world that male survivors matter. But I can’t do it alone. I believe it takes all of us—survivors, supporters, and communities—to shift how we’re seen and treated.
