Protect my Niece and her Family

Hi. My name is Julie Harnish. I am raising money to help protect and give some peace of mind and sense of safety and security to my niece, Johnna (pictured above with her BFF pet, Sadie Mae).

On Tuesday, November 14, 2023 at 1:30 pm my niece was brutally attacked by her estranged ex-fiancée. Johnna came home to a very distraught (to say the least) estranged Ex-fiancée waiting for her. They were in the middle of a break up after a 2 1/2 year relationship. The attacker could not handle the thought of a life without Johnna and decided that if she couldn't have Johnna, no one else was going to either.

As Johnna was getting ready to leave for work, the attacker took a crystal vase and broke it over Johnna's head, in hopes of knocking her out, with intentions of stabbing her to death - Thank God it didn't knock Johnna out, as this allowed Johnna the ability to literally fight for her life. The Attacker then grabbed a butcher knife and repeatedly stabbed Johnna several times, causing serious injuries to her.

Praise God, Johnna was able to escape and get help by calling 911 with the assistance of her property rental office.

Why am I trying to raise funds? Long story short...The judicial system for Domestic Violence Victims/Survivors is lacking in many, many areas.

My Sister (Johnna's Mom) and her father and siblings are living in fear everyday for their lives. Why? The attacker spent 11 days in a Mental Hospital, was served a warrant for her arrest, for Assault with a Deadly Weapon With Intent to Kill, Inflicting Serious Injury - Simple Assault - Assault with a Deadly Weapon: she spent 2 days in jail and was released on $10,000 bond/bail of which she only had to pay 10% of that - $1000.00. She was released two days ago with no conditional restrictions other than to avoid contact with the survivor. The attacker confessed to police of what she did and said she has NO REMORSE for it. They just released a person who literally tried to KILL MY NIECE. This is why the fear in my family is so prevalent (as you can imagine). Yes, they have an order of protection against the attacker (which is a joke - this does nothing in the way of protection).

They have spent two nights in a hotel in hopes of "HIDING" to protect their family against future violence.

I am looking to raise money to help put them in an Airbnb from December 1 - January 2. I found one that will fit their family and two dogs and the total cost is $7,516 and then GoFundMe will also take out their fees. This will hopefully get them through all the court dates until the attacker can be sentenced for her crimes.

As you can imagine, this has been devastating to our family. Praise God, Johnna will recover from her injuries and is getting counseling. The physical will heal. The mental and emotional will take some time.

Pray for protection, for fears to be released and hearts, body and minds to be healed in Jesus' Name. I appreciate and value each and everyone that took the time to read this.
